My Bio

I started acting in musicals at the age of 10 (The Artful Dodger, Oliver!) and, save for a few pauses along the way, haven't stopped. My professional acting history is largely in theater but I've added film/television/commercial work more recently and begun print modeling as a middle aged woman (oddly enough). I've sung jazz since college and write/perform my own music (indie/folk).

Favorite roles in regional theaters include Eva Peron (Evita), Nancy (Oliver!), Sarah Brown (Guys and Dolls), and Clairee Belcher (Steel Magnolias). I like to think I'm equally adept at drama and comedy. Although I'm a very physical actor (Peter Pan understudy in my mid-forties), I am frequently cast as the older, upscale, intimidating: "bitch-with-a-heart-of-gold" type. That's what I can look like; what I AM like is Liz Lemon (i.e., I would use a scented candle for deoderant in a pinch).

I've filled out my performance life with 2 years of Peace Corps Service, masters degrees in theater and clinical psychology, raising a salt-of-the-earth young man, and professions as a teacher and therapist. I am service oriented--it's the former Catholic in me--and volunteer for Musicians On Call in NYC hospitals.
